Toni Knight   -

IDENTITY, Pt 4 – 4/28/24

Lean In:

  • Do you tend to be more of a gullible person (believe everything you hear) or a skeptical person (question everything you hear)? Explain and give examples.

Look Out:

  • Share examples of things in this world people say you can be sure of?

Look Down: READ John 16:5-15

  • What stands out from these verses or from the weekend message?

Look In: 3 ASSURANCES you are SAVED

  1. CONVICTION of the Spirit
    • What is the difference between guilt and conviction?

  • RE-READ JOHN 16:13 – What stands out?

  • Share about a time you were convicted about something in your life? What did that conviction feel like and how did you respond to it?
  • In what specific ways can you posture yourself to be open to God’s conviction?
  1. CORRECTION by the FATHER
    • What kind of disciplinarians were your parents when you were a child?

  • READ HEBREWS 12:5-11 – What stands out?

  • What is the difference between punishment and discipline?
  • How have you or a loved one grown from the experience of God’s discipline?
  1. CONFIDENCE in the SON
  • What is the danger of relying on our feelings when it comes to faith?
  • READ 1 JOHN 5:11-13 – What stands out?
  • How confident are you in your faith in Jesus? Have you moved from “knowing” about Jesus to actually trusting Him with your life?
  • What is your story today (What is God currently doing in your life?)

Looking Beyond

  • Spend time considering takeaways from the series on Identity. Make note of “aha” moments and growth lessons. Also think through how you felt about your faith before the series and now. What next steps does God want you to take as a response to what you’ve learned? Be sure to write out your conclusions and discuss with group members.
