We like to say that The Rooted Experience is the front door to community. Rooted is a 10-week experience, offered 3 times per year (fall, winter, spring) for people in every stage of life, wherever they are in their walk with Christ.
Rooted helps you discover a different way to live life through community, connection and generosity.
Maybe you are brand new to the Christian faith, maybe you have been walking with God for a long time. No matter where you find yourself in your spiritual journey, Rooted will help you take the next step forward in strengthening your relationship with God. We believe that if you fully engage in the Rooted experience for 10 weeks, you will walk away forever changed.
More than just a Bible study, your Rooted group will participate in experiences together. Exploring practices like fasting, praying, serving, celebrating and sharing your faith story to help you develop a deeper connection to God, to each other, and to your purpose.
In addition, you will encounter daily opportunities to deepen your personal relationship on your own with God through the study of Scripture and reflection. We believe that if you fully engage in The Rooted Experience for 10 weeks, you will walk away with life-long friendships.

Rooted is a 10-week discipleship program and a catalyst for life-change. It provokes questions, conversations, and group experiences designed to give you a glimpse of your story in God’s story.
Registration is easy! Once registration is open for the upcoming session, click on which campus and time you want to register for and follow the steps. The cost is $20 per person to go through the course, which includes all sessions, your workbook and other materials, and the Celebration dinner at the end of the 10 weeks. This breaks down to just $2 a week! You can make installment payments if necessary. Please note – there is an additional $8 charge for all books that need to be shipped.
Childcare is available for some in-person rooted groups. Check your “attendee type” as you register, to see if childcare is available.
If you miss the first week, your leader will be in contact with you and you can still join your group. For the best Rooted experience, we recommend not missing more than two weeks. If your schedule requires you to miss more than two, feel free to jump into the Rooted when the next session starts.
For the Winter 2022 session, we have groups meeting in-person and online. You can choose which you would like to experience when you register.
We understand that Rooted is a large time commitment, but we believe it is worth it to invest in the entire process. If you know you are going to miss more than 2 meetings, we ask that you wait until the next session of Rooted. The 10 weeks are a cumulative experience, and so we ask that every participant commit to honor each other with being at every meeting.
Our Rooted team will prayerfully place participants into groups of about 6-12 people. We group by age, marital status, and life stage. We form groups of married couples, singles, women, men, and young adults. These groups ultimately depend upon the demographic of those who registered. A substantial amount of prayer and thoughtfulness goes into creating groups which we think will provide the best experience for all people who attend. While we do our best to honor requests when possible, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate all friend or leader requests.

Rooted is for the person who is ready to take a step of commitment to on-going Life Groups. Ideally, your Rooted group at the end of the 10 weeks becomes your Life Group, so we strongly advise that you go through Rooted before joining an open Life Group.
We believe that Rooted is a life-changing experience and we want everyone to participate! We understand that the Rooted registration fee may be a burden for some and we are happy to provide scholarships. Please email rooted@sunrisechurch.org for an application.
Books will be distributed during your first week of rooted for all in person groups. For those taking Rooted online, books can be picked up at a Sunrise campus during the week (details will be sent upon registration).
If you are physically unable to pick up a book contact us at rooted@sunrisechurch.org to have your book shipped for an additional cost of $8 (paid during registration).
