What is Rooted?

Rooted is a 10-week discipleship program and a catalyst for life-change. It provokes questions, conversations, and group experiences designed to give you a glimpse of your story in God’s story.

How do I register and what does it cost?

Answer

Registration is easy! Once registration is open for the upcoming session, click on which campus and time you want to register for and follow the steps. The cost is $20 per person to go through the course, which includes all sessions, your workbook and other materials, and the Celebration dinner at the end of the 10 weeks. This breaks down to just $2 a week! You can make installment payments if necessary. Please note – there is an additional $8 charge for all books that need to be shipped.

Is childcare available?

Childcare is available for some in-person rooted groups. Check your “attendee type” as you register, to see if childcare is available.

What if I cannot make it to the first week?

Answer

If you miss the first week, your leader will be in contact with you and you can still join your group. For the best Rooted experience, we recommend not missing more than two weeks. If your schedule requires you to miss more than two, feel free to jump into the Rooted when the next session starts.

Where will my Rooted group meet?

For the Fall 2025 session, we have groups meeting in-person at every campus.

What if I cannot make all ten weeks?

We understand that Rooted is a large time commitment, but we believe it is worth it to invest in the entire process. If you know you are going to miss more than 2 meetings, we ask that you wait until the next session of Rooted. The 10 weeks are a cumulative experience, and so we ask that every participant commit to honor each other with being at every meeting.

How will my Rooted group be chosen?

Our Rooted team will prayerfully place participants into groups of about 6-12 people. We group by age, marital status, and life stage. We form groups of married couples, singles, women, men, and young adults. These groups ultimately depend upon the demographic of those who registered. A substantial amount of prayer and thoughtfulness goes into creating groups which we think will provide the best experience for all people who attend. While we do our best to honor requests when possible, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate all friend or leader requests.

What if Registration is closed?

In the event that registration closes, join a Growth Group starting September 2025. For any questions, please email us at rooted@sunrisechurch.org.

What is the difference between Rooted and Small Groups?

Answer

Rooted is for the person who is ready to take a step of commitment to on-going Life Groups. Ideally, your Rooted group at the end of the 10 weeks becomes your Life Group, so we strongly advise that you go through Rooted before joining an open Life Group.

Are scholarships available?

We believe that Rooted is a life-changing experience and we want everyone to participate! We understand that the Rooted registration fee may be a burden for some and we are happy to provide scholarships. Please email rooted@sunrisechurch.org for an application.

When will I get my book?

Books will be distributed during your first week of rooted for all in person groups. For those taking Rooted online, books can be picked up at a Sunrise campus during the week (details will be sent upon registration).

If you are physically unable to pick up a book contact us at rooted@sunrisechurch.org to have your book shipped for an additional cost of $8 (paid during registration).
