FROM THE GROUND UP - Nehemiah 7-9 - 12/14/25

Lean In:
  • What’s one promise someone kept for you that meant the world to you? How did it impact your trust in them?
Look Out:
  • Why do you think people today struggle to trust promises—whether from leaders, institutions, or even God?
Look Down: READ Nehemiah 7:1-6 & 8:1-12
  • What stands out in these verses or from the weekend message?
Look In: BECAUSE GOD IS THE PROMISE KEEPER WE MUST:
1. RECORD the Promises God Has Fulfilled
  • Why does Nehemiah record such detailed genealogies, numbers, and names?
  • What does this teach us about remembering God’s faithfulness?
  • How has God answered prayers or fulfilled promises in your life that you may not have recorded or celebrated?
  • What practical method could help you start “recording what God has done” so you can remember and rely on it?
2. REVIEW the Promises God Has Made
  • Why do you think God’s people were weeping as they heard Scripture read for hours?
  • What does this reveal about the power of God’s Word?
  • What happens when we assume we know God’s promises but rarely revisit them?
  • What truth from Scripture do you most need to “review” right now?
3. RELY on God Wholeheartedly
  • Nehemiah 9 recounts God’s faithfulness generation after generation. What impact does this kind of remembering have on surrender and trust?
  • Where are you still trying to “rebuild” in your own strength rather than relying on God?
  • What would wholehearted reliance on God look like for you this week—practically and spiritually?
Next Step Challenge:
  • Which step do you need most right now: Record, Review, or Rely?
  • What’s one concrete action you will take this week to deepen your trust in the Promise Keeper?
  • How can our group support you in taking that step?
