  • If you could perform a miracle for one person or situation, what would it be and why?

  • Share examples of “miracles” you heard about in the news or from preachers or people who claim to be able to heal?
Look Down: READ John 11:32-43; Genesis 1:1; Matthew 8:2-4 & 23-27
  • What stands out in these verses about miracles? What encourages you? Inspires you? Confuses you? Convicts you? 
Look In: 
MIRACLE = SUPERNATURAL ACT that cannot be explained by NATURAL ANSWERS
1. Q: If I haven’t received a miracle, is it because I don’t have enough faith?
  • Have you ever wondered this question for yourself or has it been presented to you as a reason God hasn’t answered your prayers? 
  • How did that impact your faith journey?
  • What is dangerous about believing God’s miracles are dependent on my faith?
  • Share examples when Jesus performed a miracle regardless of people’s faith?
  • How can we worship God even after we pray for a miracle He doesn’t give us?
2. Q: Why do some people get miracles and some don’t? Does God play favorites?
  • Have you ever believed God was answering someone else’s prayers, but not yours? How did that make you feel?
  • READ LUKE 7:18-23 - What stands out about how John felt regarding his imprisonment and pending death? How did Jesus respond?
  • Why is it dangerous to believe that God does miracles for His “favorites”?
  • How can we worship God even when it seems He’s answering someone else’s prayers, but not ours?
3. Q: Do Christians have the authority of Jesus?
  • What is dangerous about telling God what to do “in the name of Jesus?”
  • READ MATTHEW 26:37-39 - What stands out in these verses?
  • How can we pray in the power and name of Jesus without crossing the line of commanding God to move or work?
