Worship the Creator not the Creation

Cliff Ellison

Ecclesiastes. 3:11: "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end."

Earth Day is a day that is intended to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment. It was founded by a United States Senator named Gaylord Nelson. According to Wikipedia, Earth Day is observed on April 22nd each year by more than 500 million people and several national governments in 175 countries. It is nice that 500 million people are aware of the need to take care of God’s creation. But think how great it would be to be instrumental in encouraging 500 million people to worship the Creator.

As Christians we can bring awareness to the beauty of God’s creation to others. This gives us the opportunity to share with others the scripture that supports the natural beauty and wonders God has created for us on earth.

Be careful; worship the Creator and not the Creation.

"They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen." Romans 1:25
