Women @ Sunrise 2012 Vision

There are three verses that characterize our vision and focus for 2012 and the years to come.

The first is Hebrews 11:6 where it says, “And without FAITH it is impossible to please God.”  Our desire is to please God by living lives of faith.  Faith is taking God at His Word, believing what He has revealed to us in His Word, stepping out in obedience to it, and trusting the Spirit to empower and enable us to do it.

The second is John 14:12 which Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.  He will do even GREATER THINGS than these, because I am going to the Father.”  Jesus was leaving this earth, but sending His Spirit to indwell every believer at salvation.  The Spirit of God in us enables and empowers us to do things, greater things, which can only be attributed to the fact that a supernatural God is at work in and through us.

The third verse to characterize our lives and our ministry is 2 Corinthians 1:9b which says, “But this happened that WE MIGHT NOT RELY ON OURSELVES BUT ON GOD, WHO RAISES THE DEAD.”  Paul was explaining that the pressures he faced, being stretched in his ability to endure and even despairing for his life, forced him to rely on God and not himself.  If we are going to step out in faith and trust God for great things, we will find ourselves in situations that force us to rely on Him for we simply cannot do it without Him.  And, God’s desire is that we rely on Him every day, not just when we face difficult and taxing situations.

God wants to use you and me to draw a lost and broken world to our Savior and then help them grow to maturity in Christ.  Throughout history, He has used the average, the weak, and the fearful to do His work, people who allowed the Holy Spirit to accomplish His will through them.  As the Chris Tomlin song says, “Great things are yet to come, greater things are still to be done here.”  The needs are great!  There are things to be done here!  This year, let the God’s supernatural power characterize your life and join us as we step out in FAITH, believing God for GREATER THINGS, not RELYING ON OURSELVES BUT ON GOD WHO RAISES THE DEAD.
