Who's Fooling Who?
"Claiming to be wise, they became fools." Romans 1:22 (ESV)
The ironic thing about this verse is that right after it, you get three interesting realities pronounced by God. In verses 22-24, 25-27, and 28-31, they say these things: "Therefore God gave them up..." When you suppress the truth, your knowledge of God becomes dimmer and dimmer, until people actually try to invent other ways (religions) to get to God. To proclaim a different way to God other than what He prescribed in the Holy Bible is foolishness.
This is truly a vicious cycle and at some point, through the reaping of what a person sows, a person may or may not come to their senses. Do you want your sin more than God? I know the struggle, but at some point you have to make a stand for God. I ask God to not "give me up". I need to do my part and not pursue sin instead of God. We all fall, but do we get up and make changes after we sin?
I want to encourage you to please get up, ask for forgiveness, and pursue God and He will rescue you.
"Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." James 4:8 (ESV)
God made that promise to you in His Word and He never breaks promises. Get back up! Run to God and He will receive you with open arms. This promise is for those who accept Jesus as Lord and believe that Christ died for our sins in our place and made us righteous before God.
DON’T SUPPRESS THE TRUTH!
