What to Expect

It's not easy visiting a new church for the first time.  Many things go through your mind, "Can I find my way around?  What about my kids?  Do I have to give?  How should I dress?  What's the music like?  Am I welcome if I don't know what I believe?"

We want your visit to Sunrise Church to be an enjoyable experience, one that you'll not soon forget. So let us take some of those questions and provide some helpful answers. (See also our FAQ page.)

Arrival

When you arrive at Sunrise Church (at one of our three locations), park in any parking lot for one of our weekend services.  You will be met by one of our friendly greeters who can assist you to the Worship Center, or help direct you to the children's drop off.  We have a good security system in place to check your child in.  If your kids are shy, they can accompany you to the adult service, but most kids thoroughly enjoy our children's programs.  As you enter the auditorium, another greeter will provide a warm hello, and give you our worship program that lists our many ministries and opportunities.  If you need assistance finding a seat, one of our ushers will gladly help you.

Dress

People feel free at Sunrise Church to dress comfortably, which could mean different things to different folks.  Some prefer to dress up a bit, but many prefer to dress casually.  We don't judge people based on how they dress.  We're just glad you came!

Worship Service

Our service begins with spirited upbeat music followed by a welcome and time of greeting one another.  Following a time of musical worship, you'll view a short video describing some current opportunities or events going on at Sunrise.  (This order and format might vary slightly depending which location you attend.)  You will then hear a dynamic message from God's Word.  We have screens to help you see the verses and sermon highlights.  At offering time, remember you are our guests. You need not give anything, but we would like you to drop your communication slip (see below) in the container as it goes by.

Maybe you brought a heavy heart to our worship service, or have a special need you want us to pray about.  At the very end of our service, we have a special time of prayer where caring Prayer Partners pray for people's needs.  You may come at this time to have someone pray for you.

Communication Slip

As you open your worship program, you'll notice a "communication slip" on the right side.  We'd like to get acquainted with you and would appreciate if you filled that out.  You can drop it in the offering container later in the service.

After Service

On your way out, if you have any questions about spiritual matters, we have a Spiritual Growth table where we keep "Coming to God" packets.  Someone should be there to give you that packet.  After the service, you may pick up your kids from their classrooms, but you don't have to run off yet.  Don’t run off after the service.  Drop by The Cup and enjoy a hot drink or smoothie.  While you’re there, feel free to browse our Bookstore, located in the same building.  One of our friendly greeters will be happy to point you the way.

We're so glad you stopped by. We look forward to seeing you this weekend!
