Train up a Child

Deb Goolsby

“He must manage his own family well, having children who respect & obey him.”  1 Timothy 3:4

Taking the time to consistently train, follow through on expectations, correct, and encourage our children isn’t always easy in the given moment, but such an investment of our time will return to bless our kids again and again. And the ultimate reward? Adulthood won’t come as shock. What are your doing to invest in your child’s life? Are you driving them to event after event, or are you creating “events” in your own home? Are you being consistent in the things that you teach your children, or are you backing down from those “teachable moments”? Where do you go when you have been given instruction? What are you doing to invest in your child’s life? Why not use the best tool available – the Bible!

Proverbs 20:7 tells us, “The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children who follow them”. That is my prayer for you and myself.

He's Still Working on Me

He's still working on me to make me what I ought to be.
It took Him just a week to make the moon and stars,
The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars.
How loving and patient He must be, He's still working on me.
