The To-Do List
The holiday season is here and people are busy making plans for a festive season. Family gatherings, dinners, parties and shopping are at the top of the "To-Do" Lists. People are checking their list twice, but still often forgetting the reason for the season. What should be one of the happiest times of the year often becomes one of the saddest. Many people believe that Christmas is about giving and receiving material gifts. To the contrary. Christmas is about receiving an internal gift which gives eternal life, and this life is in the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Christmas is the time when family comes together to celebrate special relationships and good times; but for some, it is a time of despair and loneliness. Jesus Christ came into this world to help people come to Him and accept the free gift of salvation. For many, Christmas is filled with happiness and joy and it only happens one time a year. But with the gift of Jesus residing in your heart, Christmas is every day of the year. The gift is free. Batteries are not needed, it comes with a lifetime warranty that is out of this world; it’s a gift that keeps on giving and is guaranteed to last forever. The person and work of Jesus are the means of eternal life. The birth of Jesus is the reason for the season. He comes in many different names and is found in your nearest Bible - Immanuel, Good Shepherd, Prince of Peace, Lamb of God, Messiah, Deliverer, Bread Of Life, High Priest, Wonderful Counselor, King of Kings, Rock, Bright Morning Star, and Love.
"He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed." Isaiah 53:3-5
No one but God gave the sacrificial gift. But all who have received that gift has the ability to share that gift. Show others the true reason for the season and put Jesus at the very top of your "To-Do" List.
O Come Let us Adore Him
O come all ye faithful, Joyful and triumphant
O come ye O come ye, To Bethlehem
Come and behold Him, Born the King of angels
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore him
O come let us adore Him
Christ the Lord
