The Blood of Jesus Cleanses
"But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin." I John 1:7
I have always felt that many, if not most, of the emotional and psychological problems can be traced to guilt or guilt feelings. Some people deal with guilt by suppressing it deep within their own sub-consciousness, while others try to rationalize it away. Some try to increase their good works in the hope that God will pardon them based on that. But, they all have one thing in common: the guilt keeps coming back.
How do we deal with guilt? There is only one way to remove guilt, the blood of Jesus Christ. Instead of temporarily covering up the guilt, the blood of Jesus removes it (Hebrews 9:26). That's great news and cause for deep rejoicing.
When you are deeply burdened with guilt or feelings of failure, you need only go to the One who can take it all away, and turn your mourning into lasting joy. How do we come to Him? Why, just like the old song says, "Just as I am without one plea." Come to Him as you are, and leave your guilt with Him. He will turn your tears into gladness. It's really that simple. So come to Him, and come just as you are.
"Just As I Am"
Just as I am without one plea
But that thy blood was shed for me
And that thou bidst me come to Thee
O Lamb of God I come I come
