Prioritizing the Priority

Cliff Ellison

We live in a microwave world that offers us everything instantaneously.  It enhances the quantity of our life, but not necessarily the quality of our life.  The modern day family is so bombarded with the quantities of things like, entertainment, recreation, social activities and moneymaking opportunities and at such a high rate of speed that we often miss prioritizing our priorities. We overlook the need for God our creator, and the purpose of why we are here.  We are consumed with self-worth and material value.  We worry about the external and not the eternal; the temporary and not the permanent.  The family can be easily distracted from prioritizing the priority, which is God.

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."  Matthew 6:33

The priority of the modern day family is the same as their predecessors, God first.  As a result, the fullness of God’s blessing will manifest in family's lives today as it did in the past.  The world is changing, but God and His ways has not.

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."  Hebrews 13:8

· Start the day by acknowledging God.

· Pray for wisdom and guidance.

· Prioritize your priorities by always placing God first.
