"They will tell of the power of your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great deeds." Psalm 145:6
Your personal testimony of knowing Jesus as Savior and Lord is an effective way to teach others about Jesus and will encourage fellow Christians. To many, the Bible and church experience is out-of-date and unrelated to the events of their lives. But people can relate to your life experiences and will listen when you say how knowing God has made a difference. Others will listen when they hear you say that you include God in your decision-making and when you explain what God has done, and is doing, in your life.
Whether you experience a lot of turmoil or a little turmoil in your life doesn’t matter. What matters is that as you go through all of life’s experiences, you have a personal relationship with God that is changing your way of thinking and it has made a difference in your life.
Our experiences are a solid means of personalizing and teaching the reality of Jesus and His Word, experiences that the Holy Spirit can use to convince others that God is real, that He loves us and desires to have a personal relationship with us. Even other Christians can be encouraged through our testimony. Many can identify with our struggles and most will relate to our ongoing discovery of God’s truth as a growing Christian. Sharing our experience with other Christians can motivate them to persevere and continue seeking God’s wisdom in their thoughts and actions.
Never be shy about telling someone else what God has done for you. God may use it in ways you never dreamed.
