One of things I do here at Sunrise is work with the Tech Ministry. The men and women in the Tech Ministry are the good people who operate the lights, cameras, video switchers, and sound mixers for every service and event we have at Sunrise. There are over 30 people in the Tech Ministry, and most of them serve every single week.
One of the interesting things about the Tech Ministry is that when we do our job right, no one notices. When everything works great, it should seem like everything happens “automagically.” Fortunately for the Tech Ministry, not being noticed is one of our goals. We want the focus to be on worship and hearing God’s Word, not the great camera work or the sound mix. We appreciate not being noticed.
Not everyone feels that way, however. Have you ever felt like no one notices what you do? When you do a good job, no one cares? Sometimes, you feel like you’ve been working for days or months or years, but no one seems to notice. It can be very disappointing, and sometimes very frustrating when you feel like no one notices!
The Bible has good news, however. In Hebrews 6:10, the Bible says, “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.”
Even though other people may not notice what you do, God notices. He will not forget your work and the love you have shown. When you serve God and His people, God notices. He doesn’t forget. Sometimes we feel that our efforts are in vain, but God knows. We show our faith and love for God by what we do. Our faith is lived out in our acts of love for God. It is an active faith. God cares about and notices what you do for Him.
