Just Keep Saying Good Morning!

Scott Stevenson

Life is a constant reminder of our mortality.  We experience a number of things that let us down or wear on us.  We tend to look for relief in different ways, never really finding satisfaction.  The decline of our mortal bodies points us to our maker who gives us His wonderful promises to place our hope.  Do you live your life believing what God says is true?  2 Corinthians 4:16-18 gives me a promise I can believe in.

"That is why we never give up.  Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.  For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long.  Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!  So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen.  For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever."  II Corinthians 4:16-18 (NLT)

How do I get from point A to B?  How do I look past this world toward the unseen?

"Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."  Romans 12:2 (NLT)

What does that mean?  Where do we go to know about God?  I only know of one place…the Bible.  In the Bible, we find God’s will for our lives, we just have to obey what we read and let God’s words transform us.

I want to rise above my troubles and look to the Lord in my numerous times of need.  I want to make my trust in the Lord a habit that I carry into eternity; finding the peace only God can provide, the type of peace that urges people to ask, “I want what you have”.

Spend time with HIM.
