Is God Listening to My Prayers?
Sometimes as I go through my day, I send up "snippet" prayers to God knowing that He is always listening. Because Psalm 66:18 says, "If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened." At times, I have wondered if He has heard me. Do I have unconfessed sin in my life that has caused a wall to be formed between me and God, a wall that I am building?
The Psalmist says in Psalm 32:5, "Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, "'I will confess my transgressions to the LORD' - and You forgave the guilt of my sin." Asking for forgiveness and repenting of my sin from a sincere heart is all that it takes to tear down that wall. Daily I need to come to the Lord and tear down those walls so that I can know He does hear my voice. It's such a comfort to know that God knows me by name. Yes, He does hear me and yes He does answer my prayer according to His will for my life.
"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us." I John 5:14
Now when I begin my day with breaking down the walls, I can be assured by His Word that God does hear my "snippet" prayers throughout my day and I feel so much more focused on my relationship with my Heavenly Father.
How has your day gone today? Rushed? Confused? Out of sorts? Look back! Did you start your day with God, or will He only get your leftovers tonight?
