How Much God Has Done for You

Jim Coyle

In Luke 8:26-38, Luke tells us of Jesus delivering a man who was possessed by many demons.  I have read this account numerous times and have often thought of the wonderful thing that God did for him, and the strange reaction the people of the area had to it.  While these are worth considering, we must also remember the command Jesus gave the man in verse 39, "Return home and tell how much God has done for you.  So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him," and apply it to our daily life.

Everyone who has received Jesus as their Savior has a testimony of how much God has done for them by giving the gift of eternal life.  This is the greatest thing He has done for us, and yet there are many other things He does for us as well. At Sunrise, we hear on a regular basis of what God has done for individuals.  Many have told us of being set free from addictions, illnesses, and financial and marital difficulties.  We have also been told of those who have had family relationships restored by God.

Today I would encourage you to think about how much has God done for you.  Write down some of those things, and then tell someone how much God has done for you.

"Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice.  Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice.  O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son and give Him the glory, great things He has done."
