Hope For the Battle
“Use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all Christians." Ephesians 6:13-18
If you have received Jesus Christ into your heart by faith, you are a son or daughter of God. That means that the enemy is out to destroy you, because the enemy is opposed to God. The enemy will do everything he can to steal your joy, your hope and your peace because he wants to keep you distracted and scattered. The enemy will do everything possible to keep you focused on yourself so you lose focus of your purpose, which thereby keeps you from truly loving God or others.
The Bible says that our struggle isn't against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. This means that our real fight isn't with the people around us, or even ourselves. It is truly with the enemy. We have to be aware of what is really going on. We are in a battle and we need to be equipped. To withstand the attacks and the schemes of the enemy, we must depend on God’s strength and use every piece of His armor.
Today when things come up that challenge you, whether it be a situation or through a person, remember that you are a son or daughter of God. You have the Holy Spirit to guide you and comfort you. The Holy Spirit is a helper and He wants to help you! He will help you to overcome each situation as it arises; remembering that the enemy is behind things that would take your hope and peace away, leaving you isolated. God takes care of His children!
Remember who our real battle is with and let's put our trust in Him today by putting on the “Full Armor of God”.
