Good Health

"The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing."  Proverbs 12:18

For thousands of years, honey has been valued as a health food for older children and adults.  Easily absorbed and digested into the body, it not only forms enzymes that give the body energy, but it also kills germs and improves the immune system.  Our gracious words will also bring healing to body and soul.  Our words can heal!  Our words can help others shake off the destructive effects of harmful beliefs and lifestyles that leave people emotionally damaged.  Many of those we encounter throughout our daily lives need to hear the healing truth about God, the reassuring truth about themselves, and the realistic truth about the world they live in.  They need to know that God is good, that they are loved, and that the world is broken.  And they need to know that God will fix it!

As honey is sweet, so also our words will be sweet, helping and healing those around us.  As we choose to care, others will thrive.  As we deflect rumors, gossip will die down.  As we sidestep judgment and embrace compassion, those around us will feel the healing difference our words make.  You can carry God’s presence into you world in this way!

Everyone that God brings into our lives need to know that they matter to us and to God.  When we choose to build up people with our words, we actually inspire health and healing because emotional well-being is directly tied to physical health.  Again, our words can even accelerate physical healing and our words can reshape someone’s experience of life!  May God bless you as you choose your words wisely and bring healing to others.
