God's Children Need Courage

"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong."  I Corinthians 16:13

While a $100,000 fire truck stood by unused because nobody knew how it operated, fire destroyed a power plant in the tiny village of Akiachak, Alaska.  Damage to the plant was estimated at $250,000.

Sometimes what is lacking is a little bit of initiative.  If we have been knocked down, we need to get back up.  If we failed a class, retake it again and do our best.  If we lost a job because of a bad review, ask God for help and He will see us through.

The Apostle Paul was an expert at facing setbacks:  He had so many of them.  He was imprisoned, beaten, run out of town, attacked even by professing believers, and ridiculed.  But, he had one quality that seemed to overcome all of his setbacks:  He kept getting up; he kept moving forward.

We can be tempted to quit and give up, or not give our best efforts, but imagine what this firetruck could have accomplished if the city had a mind to figure it out.

Are you tempted to quit, or give up?  Never forget that God loves you very much and has encouraging things for you ahead.  We have to "get up" and try once again.

I Am on the Battlefield for My Lord

I am on the battlefield for my Lord, I am on the battlefield for my Lord

And I promised Him that I, would serve Him 'til I die

I am on the battlefield for my Lord!
