God Will Take Care of You
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).
Sometimes when we consider making a commitment to God, we begin to worry about the effect it will have on our lives. “Will I have time to do this?” “How will this affect my leisure time?” “Will this eat into my time to work and make money?”
Full disclosure: The only guarantee God gives you comes by way of a promise. He will take care of you. God does not provide tangible guarantees and furnish you proof, nor does He always show you how He will take care of you. He wants you to take Him at His word. He wants you to trust Him.
God tells us that we will suffer no loss in serving Him:
“Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life” (Mark 10:29-30).
Some people balk and want detailed proof that every need will be met. But God leaves you with the promise that He will abundantly provide for you. Parents make similar struggles when deciding when to have children. They suppose they must have a certain income level, and that they must experience maximum fun before they settle down to the responsibilities of parenthood. Sometimes that perfect time never arrives. We need to trust God and move forward.
Has God spoken to you about launching out and serving Him? Are you waiting for the perfect time based on your lifestyle and personal conveniences? That time will never arrive. Take Him at His word and serve Him today. He will take of you, but take that step. In fact, make it more than a step; jump in with both feet.
