God Is Very Personal
"As for God, His way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. For who is God except the Lord? Who but God is a solid rock?" Psalm 18:30-31
Psalm 18 may have been written towards the end of David’s life when there was peace and calmness. Throughout Psalm 18, David acknowledges and sings a song of praise to the Lord for rescuing him from all of his enemies and from King Saul. He praises God for His glorious works and blessings throughout his life. And while the theme of Psalm 18 is based on gratitude for deliverance and victory, the key principle, an attribute that should not be overlooked, is this…God is very personal!!!
David begins the Psalm 18 by stating, “I love you, Lord; you are my strength.” And in verse 2 of Psalm 18, David cries out that “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the strength of my salvation, and my stronghold.”
How about you? Is God very personal to you? Do you have an intimate and personal relationship with God? Can you cry out like David, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior"?
As you read through Psalm 18, you will notice three (3) specific character traits of God in verse 30, attributes that reflect His essence and His nature. The Bible says, “As for God”…
· His way is perfect.
· His promises prove true.
· He is a shield for protection.
I encourage you to step out in faith and trust God today. God’s way is perfect, He is faithful and true with His promises and He is a shield of refuge, a rock of protection for your life. Walk in His Presence and be Blessed!!!
