Do I Really Trust God?
“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in Him.” Psalm 40:3
I cried out to the Lord that I couldn’t handle a situation and I was begging for Him to just get me through the next couple of days. As I conversed with God, I was reminded that if I really trusted Him, I shouldn’t do all the worrying. He healed my broken heart and made me see the joy I so desperately wanted to feel.
Of course He did and He continues to do so. I kept saying out loud that I trusted Him and my Heavenly Father was with me through the struggle and kept His arms around me.
“But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love forever and ever.” Psalm 52:8
God really taught me a lesson in trust and how by my not trusting Him with my situation, I was rejecting Him and His love. (Ouch!) Therefore, I need to stop fretting, and release my anxiety. I need to show the Lord that I really do trust Him.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust and Obey
Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
