Crossfit - Day 18 - Love Requires Sacrificial Giving
Begin your time with God in prayer.
Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life.
Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart.
"Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:43-45
"But just as you excel in everything--in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us--see that you also excel in this grace of giving. I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others." 2 Corinthians 8:7-8
· How is Jesus’ definition of greatness different from our world’s definition of greatness?
· What changes do you need to make in your thinking so that your goal is to serve and sacrifice for the benefit of others?
· What holds you back from excelling in your giving? What changes can you make so that you excel still more in your giving?
Father, Your ways are not my ways, or the world's ways. You desire transformation in my life. Help me to die to my will and desires and teach me how to serve others. I want to excel more in giving. Help me to be a wise steward of the resources that You have given to me. Amen.
