Continue the Harvest

Dave Jones

"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?  And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?  And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?"  Romans 10:14

It probably will not appear in the local newspaper or the evening news, but heaven takes note.  Quietly and inconspicuously, the church and its members follow the instruction of the Holy Spirit and separate themselves from the world to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.  In the home with a family member or friend, at work with a co-worker, at play with a teammate, in the Worship Center and classrooms of our church, we tell others the gospel, provide comfort and encouragement, and share Biblical counsel with others.

Nothing pleases God more than servants who disregard the pleasures of the world and step out of their comfort zone to share the gospel of Christ.

It’s pretty amazing when you stop and think about it.  The plan God instituted for evangelism hasn’t been altered, suspended, or discontinued in almost 2,000 years.  Although methods have changed, the basic approach remains the same.  The Holy Spirit does the separating and those who are separated step up and take action.

I am thankful that men and women still respond to God’s call, but more workers are needed.  “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” (Matthew 9:38).  Do you consider yourself a harvest worker?  Do you consider yourself separated from the world?  Are you prepared to be a harvest worker?  Separate yourself from the world, be prepared and join the harvest.  It probably will not appear in the local newspaper or the evening news, but heaven takes note.

The harvest is plenty but he workers are light. God knows I want to be a worker in The harvest but I feel like I'm never doing enough. I've worked with the cookie ministry, taken classes in the womens ministry, taken Discovery 1,2,3,4, and the one to one follow up and currently working with the phone prayer ministry which I enjoy trememdously. Unfortunately currently I'm unable to get signed on. I've attended many different churches, but Sunrise has been the greatest blessing ever in my spiritual life. I took the class the Blessing with Ken Cox and that's what I love about Sunrise Church> this church is always seeking to be a blessing to someone at all times. Ken was a wonderful teacher and the class was a true blessing to me. God has used me to invite friends that were down in the spirit of Christ and they have become a working part of Sunrise, they are growing spiritually and healing physically. To God be the glory for what he has done. I'm sorry I didn't mean to write so much. Yes I will be a worker in the harves as the Holy Spirit directs my life.
