"But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander." 1 Peter 3:15-16
Is she pretending to be happy?
Is she always in a good mood?
Why does she forgive so easily?
How does she overcome challenges?
Ever meet someone that genuinely seemed pleasant whenever you encounter them; a person that has the characteristics of someone you wanted to be like all the time. I’ve met a few people just like that and I’ve always wondered how they obtained such great character; was it their upbringing by amazing parents? After observing closely I came to one conclusion; the only way for it to be possible to have great character would be a dependence on The Holy Spirit to live out true holiness. Are we not drawn to people who live holy lives, because their character draws us to God? It reminds us how we ought to live by the Spirit and not by the flesh.
"In order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." Romans 8:4
"But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:15-16
Now that we know we ought to live holy lives are we ready to give an account of why we live the way we do? Will we forget to tell others of the hope we have in our Savior Jesus Christ? Will we be sure not to glorify ourselves, but to glorify the one who made it possible of the hope that we have as the day is drawing near? We are to be witnesses to why we live the way we live and why we hope the way we hope. Let’s introduce the world to He who was, He who is and He who is to come.
"Is she pretending to be happy? You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." Psalm 16:11
Is she always in a good mood? "The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace." Psalm 29:11
Why does she forgive so easily? "But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. "Matthew 6:15
How does she overcome challenges? "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." 1 John 4:4
