Are You Prepared?
"The end of all things is near. Therefore, be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray." I Peter 4:7
In January, British Airways flight 205 from Miami to London, was flying over the Atlantic Ocean in the middle of the night when a taped message came over the loud speaker: "The plan is about to crash land into the sea." At first, people weren't sure what was happening when the taped message again declared, "The plan is about to crash land into the sea."
The people on the plan began screaming and crying; they all thought that they were going to die.
A few moments later, the captain of the plane got on the loud speaker and told everyone to ignore the announcement. It was simply a recorded message that was falsely played.
The Bible has sent out a recorded message to all of humanity about an upcoming crash; but this announcement is not a false alarm. In I Peter 4:7, it warns us that the end of all things is near. But instead of panicking, God tells us to keep our composure and be people of prayer.
One day, all things will end...are you prepared?
