“Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it.”
Begin your time with God in prayer:
Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life. Yield your will to God’s will.
Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart:
Ephesians 2:4-7 - "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus."
How does verse 4 describe God? Look up the definition of the word “mercy”.
What did God do for us when we were spiritually dead because of our sin (5-6)?
Why (keyword: because) did He make us alive with Christ (4)?
If you know Jesus personally, where are you spiritually seated for eternity (6)?
For what purpose (keyword: so that) did God save us (7)?
Apply God’s Word to your life
- Praise God for His mercy, His unfailing love and His grace toward you.
- If you are still separated from God, repent of your sin and surrender your life to Jesus.
- Thank Him that even when you were spiritually dead and separated from Him, that He made you alive with Him when you repented and surrendered your life to Him.
- Expect God to show you His immeasurable riches as you trust His promises.
Father, I praise You for Your mercy and Your unfailing love. Thank you that in spite of my sin, You sent Your Son so that I could be made alive and raised up with Him. Forgive me for focusing too much on the things of this world. Help me to live today as one who is seated with Jesus in the heavenly places. Amen.
