40 Days of Prophecy - January 31, 2016 - We Reap What We Sow

Begin your time with God in prayer:
Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life. Yield your will to God’s will.

Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart:

Read Revelation 19:11-21

In this section, we see Jesus return with the armies of heaven for the destruction of the evil ones.

How does Jesus judge (vs.11)?
What names are used for Jesus in verse 11, 13 and 16?
What did the false prophet do (vs. 20)?
What was the fate of the beast and the false prophet (vs.20)?

"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:7-9

What happens when we sow to the flesh (vs.8)?
What happens when we sow to the Spirit (vs. 8)?
What does Paul encourage us to do in verse 9 since we reap what we sow?

Apply God’s Word to your life:
· Evaluate your life – how are you sowing?
· Pray for the endurance to do good every day.
· Be faithful to God, even when it’s hard.
· What specific good act will you do today?

Father, help me to start some new habits during this study. Help me to find time to spend with You each day. Help me take Your Word to heart and seek to obey it. Give me the heart to love others and do good to them. Amen.

Related verses to meditate on:

"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever[c] you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law."  Galatians 5:16-18

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other."  Galatians 5:22-26
