40 Days of Prophecy - January 2, 2016 - Behold, He is Coming!

Begin your time with God in prayer:
Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life. Yield your will to God’s will.

Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart:

Read Revelation 1:4-8
This passage begins with God and then describes who Jesus is, what He has done for us and what He will do in the future – judge evil and reign forever.

How does John describe Jesus in verses 5-6?
Revelation 1:7 speaks of the future. “Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.”
Who will see Jesus’ return (vs.7)?
What will be the response to the return of Jesus (vs.7)? Why?

Jesus is the one we should be seeking today so that we are ready for Jesus to come back. He declares in verse 8, “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Apply God’s Word to your life:
· Praise God for His supremacy over all things.
· If you know Jesus, thank Him that He has freed you from your sins. If you don’t know Him, today would be a good day to tell Jesus you need to be set free from your sin and invite Him into your life to be your Lord and Savior.
· What is God asking you to do today to be prepared for the future?
