40 Days of Prophecy - February 7, 2016 - Live With the End in View

Begin your time with God in prayer:
Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life. Yield your will to God’s will.

Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart:

Read 1 Peter 3:9-12

"Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”  I Peter 3:9-12

To what were you called in verse 9?
What do we need to do to love life and see good days (vs. 10)?
Why (vs. 11)?

Most of us live for today. It will take a transformation of the heart and mind to make daily decisions in light of what God has revealed in Scripture about the future.

Apply God’s Word to your life:
· Whom does God want to bless through you today?
· What will you do to bring a blessing to their life?
· Evaluate how you speak. When do you use words to hurt or deceive? What will you do about it? See Ephesians 4:29.
· In what one relationship can you pursue peace today? How?

Father, I need help learning to live in light of the future. Give me the discipline to be in Your Word every day. Help me to see ways I can bring a blessing to others today. Guard my mouth and convict me every time I say something that displeases You. I want others to see Jesus in me. Amen.
