40 Days of Prophecy - February 5, 2016 - This World is Passing Away

Begin your time with God in prayer:
Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life. Yield your will to God’s will.

Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart:

Read Revelation 20:7-10

What will happen when the thousand years are over (vs. 7-8)?
What will Satan do to the nations once again (vs. 7)?
What happens when Satan’s armies surround God’s people (vs. 9)?
What happens to Satan (vs. 10)?

"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever."  I John 2:15-17

Earthly prosperity cannot save a sinful heart.

Apply God’s Word to your life:
· In what ways do you love the world more than Jesus?
· Confess it to God and repent. What would it look like for you to love Jesus first?
· In what ways might you be unknowingly teaching your loved ones to worship the god of materialism?
· Ask God to help you live with your focus on Jesus and eternity.

Father, this world is passing away. Forgive me for loving things more than You. Forgive me for spending time on so many things other than You. Please transform my heart. Help me seek You first and do Your will. Amen.
