Begin your time with God in prayer:
Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life. Yield your will to God’s will.
Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart:
Read Revelation 20:4-6
Who comes to life and reigns with Christ for one thousand years (vs. 4)?
When would the unsaved dead come to life (vs. 5)?
In what three ways are those who took part in the first resurrection blessed (vs. 5-6)?
"But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility." Ephesians 2:13-16
Only Jesus, reigning over all of creation, can bring lasting peace and joy to your broken world. He can also bring peace to your life today. Jesus offers us forgiveness and restoration when we stray. Jesus shows us how to forgive, how to act when wronged, and how to reconcile with those from whom we are estranged. We experience that peace when we let Jesus reign in our hearts, entrust ourselves to His plan, and are obedient to His Word.
Apply God’s Word to your life:
· What do you need to do to be at peace with God today?
· With whom do you need to be reconciled?
· What steps do you need to take to break down the barriers in that relationship?
· Whom do you know who needs the peace of God? Pray for them and share Jesus with them.
Jesus, I praise You, Prince of Peace. Thank you for reconciling us to the Father. Help me to bring Your peace and joy to the relationships in my life. Teach me how to forgive, how to love, and how to break down the barriers that destroy oneness. Amen.
