Begin your time with God in prayer:
Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life. Yield your will to God’s will.
Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart:
Read 2 Timothy 3:10-17
How did Timothy follow Paul (vs. 10-11)?
What is true of everyone who desires to live a godly life (vs.12)? Why (vs.12)?
How can we deal with persecution and protect ourselves from deception (vs. 14)?
What four ways is reading the Bible daily profitable for us (vs. 16)?
What is the result of hearing, reading, and keeping God’s Word (vs. 17)?
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Daily go to God’s Word for teaching (what God wants you to know), for reproof (to show you where you need to change), for correction (to show you the godly way to live) and for training in righteousness (to teach you how to live rightly before God).
Apply God’s Word to your life:
· How will you plan to spend time in God’s Word daily?
· What is one area of your life where God has shown you that you need to change?
· What does God’s Word say is the godly way to live in that area of your life?
· Daily applying God’s Word results in righteousness.
Father, thank you for the examples and teaching You give us in Your Word. Help me continue applying Your Word to my life, allowing You to teach me and show me where I need to change. Give me the desire and discipline to live according to Your Word. Amen.
