Begin your time with God in prayer:
Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life. Yield your will to God’s will.
Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart:
Read Revelation 22:6-11
According to verse 6, what is the nature of these prophecies and when will they be taking place?
What does Jesus declare in verse 7?
Who is blessed (vs. 7)?
What was John’s response to seeing this vision of Heaven (vs. 8)?
What mistake did John make in worshipping the angel (vs. 9)?
How did the angel correct him (vs. 9)?
The time is near so John is told not to seal up the words of the prophecy. The coming judgement and hope of eternal life need to be declared.
Apply God’s Word to your life:
· Evaluate your life. Have you grown in keeping God’s Word? If not, why not?
· Evaluate who and what you worship. Is it God alone or have you made your spouse, significant other, your child, your boss, some TV or sports or religious figure your God?
· Repent and turn back to worshipping God alone.
· Whom do you know that needs to know our loving Savior? Pray for them and seek to invite them to church or tell them about Jesus.
Father, I am so happy You are coming soon. Forgive me for giving my worship to the wrong people and things. Show me what I really worship. Then, help me put You back to the center and focus of my worship. Amen.
