40 Days of Prophecy - February 11, 2016 - The River of Life

Begin your time with God in prayer:
Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life. Yield your will to God’s will.

Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart:

Read Revelation 22:1-5

What flows from the throne of God and the lamb (vs. 1)?
What stands on the each side of the river (vs. 2)?
What will the servants of God be doing (vs. 3)?
Who gives the servants light? What will they be doing (vs. 5)?

The river and the tree of life will perfectly satisfy the desires of our heart.

Apply God’s Word to your life:
· Look to God to satisfy the desires of your heart.
· Examine your heart. In what unhealthy or ungodly ways do you try to bring satisfaction to your life?
· How can you look to God to meet those needs?
· Focus on the hope that one day God will satisfy all the desires of your heart.

Father, I praise You, Almighty God, my Creator. You know me better than anyone. You know the desires of my heart and what I struggle with. Forgive me for trying to satisfy my needs in unhealthy ways. Guide me to Your Word and let Your truth make my heart new. Amen.
