40 Days of Prophecy - February 1, 2016 - Beware of Deception

"Look, I am coming soon! Blessed are those who obey the words of prophecy written in this book."  Revelation 22:7

Begin your time with God in prayer:

Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life. Yield your will to God’s will.

Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart:

Read Revelation 20:1-3

What does the angel do to Satan in verses 1-3?
What different names are used to refer to Satan (vs. 2)?
What will Satan no longer be able to do (vs. 3)?

"Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world."  I Peter 5:8-9

According to 1 Peter 5:8-9, what can we do today to avoid being deceived by Satan?

Every one of us is vulnerable to deception. We identify lies when we know the truth. Knowing the truth comes from both knowing the One whose name is Truth and His Word.

Apply God’s Word to your life:
· Spend some time with God. Ask God to show you where you are being deceived.
· Determine a plan of action so you can stand firm and resist Satan.
· What will you do at the end of 40 Days to keep growing in your knowledge of the Truth? Who will hold you accountable?

Father, I praise You for being all powerful and that one day You will defeat Satan. Forgive me for not being aware of Satan’s methods. Help me to know Your Word so I can answer him with Your Truth. Teach me how to walk in Your power so that I can stand firm and resist him. Amen.
