40 Days of Prayer - Pray Because God Transforms Hearts - Day 27

Begin your time with God in prayer.
Begin your time with praise to God. Confess any sin that might be hindering your relationship with Him. Ask God to give you spiritual understanding as you spend time in His Word.

Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9

Why do hearts need to be transformed?

"And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh."  Ezekiel 36:26

How did God say He would transform hearts?

God transforms human hearts in response to our prayers and praying for others increases our compassion to help them.

Apply God’s Word to your life.
· Take a good look at your heart. What do you see?
· Pray for God to transform your heart with His Word.
· Why do our unsaved friends and family members need our prayers?
· Pray for God to draw them to His Son so He can transform their hearts.

Father, thank you for loving me and saving me in spite of my wicked and deceitful heart. Continue to transform my heart as I renew my mind with Your Word. Help me to see people’s hearts and understand their need for a Savior. Use Your power to draw them to Your Son. Show me ways that I can help. Amen.

Related verses to meditate on.

"For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."  Romans 5:6-8

"I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."  Romans 12:1-2
