Begin your time with God in prayer.
Begin your time with praise to God. Confess any sin that might be hindering your relationship with Him. Ask God to give you spiritual understanding as you spend time in His Word.
Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart.
"O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. 3 Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. 4 So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, 6 when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night;7 for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. 8 My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me." Psalm 63:1-8
How did David describe His need for God (1)?
How did David pursue God (2, 5-6, 8)?
What blessings did David receive as He pursued God?
God does not always immediately answer our prayers so that our faith will grow.
Apply God’s Word to your life.
· How would pursuing God the way David did change your prayer life?
· What do you yearn for more than God?
· Pray Psalm 63 back to God as a pray from your heart.
Father, I want to know You like David did. I want to know Your love and experience Your power and glory. Give me the discipline to meditate on You and Your Word at night. Help me know the joy that David experienced as You answered His prayers. Amen.

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!" Matthew 7:7-11
