40 Days of Joy - Worry and Broken Relationships - Day 48

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice."  Philippians 4:4

Begin your time with God in prayer:

Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life. Yield your will to God’s will.

Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart:

This week, we are seeking to put into practice what we have learned with the goal that we will live biblically. So ask yourself the following questions:

When you have broken relationships, will you choose to build healthy ones?

Philippians 2:1-2 - So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.

When you are anxious, will you pray about everything?

Philippians 4:6-7 - Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Apply God’s Word to your life:

  • What relationship can you seek to build with the love of God today?
  • Ask God to examine your thoughts. What are you anxious about? Confess it as sin.
  • Pray about everything with thanksgiving and release control to God so that He can fill you with His peace.

Father, You are worthy of praise. Forgive me for grumbling and complaining. Forgive me for being selfish and a worrier. Help me to focus my thoughts on You and Your Word today. Remind me to speak words that build others up and give You glory. Teach me to trust You with my circumstances instead of worrying about them. Amen.

John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

Ephesians 4:32  - Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
