"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice." Philippians 4:4
Begin your time with God in prayer:
Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life. Yield your will to God’s will.
Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart:
John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.
From where does our peace come?
Romans 8:28 - And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
What does God do for the person who loves Him and lives for His will?
Isaiah 26:3 - You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
What do we need to do in order to experience the peace of God?
The peace of God comes from trusting God’s love, His wisdom, His power and His will and then turning your stressful situation over to God. This often involves letting go of your control and surrendering your will, your wants and your outcomes to the will of God.
Apply God’s Word to your life:
Take a few minutes to evaluate how much your life reflects the peace of God.
Ask God to show you how you can love Him and live according to His will.
Ask God to help you keep your mind stayed on Him and the truth of His Word.
When you notice you are not at peace, take a few minutes and give your stress back to God through prayer.
Father, I praise You that You are the source of true peace. Forgive me for not pursuing Your peace. Help me to trust You with my life. Teach me how to continue to grow and live for Your purposes. Help me to keep my mind focused on You and Your Word. Amen.
