"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice." Philippians 4:4
Begin your time with God in prayer:
Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life. Yield your will to God’s will.
Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart:
God wants us to pray about everything. I rented one of my first apartments, furnished, from a distance and sight unseen. I had prayed diligently for it to fit into our budget and it did. But, when we got there, we found about a quarter inch of dog hair on everything. It had only two windows. The living area looked out to the underground garage. The bedroom window looked out on an air conditioner unit. I start praying immediately. This time, I prayed not only for budget, but for a clean and bright apartment, with lots of windows. God delivered one with an amazing view of Utah’s snow-capped mountains out every window. Although I did gain some real estate prowess in the process, it taught me to pray about everything, even for the little things in my life. Read the following verses to see some things people prayed for in the Bible.
Psalm 59:1 - Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; Set me securely on high away from those who rise up against me.
Psalm 120:1 - In my trouble I cried to the Lord, and He answered me.
Psalm 63:1 - O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
Psalm 51:10 - Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Luke 1:13 - But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.
Apply God’s Word to your life:
Make a list of some important things you want to pray for.
Think through your day. What meetings, tasks or people can you pray for?
What fears or worries do you have that you haven’t wanted to bother God with?
Take a few minutes and pray for some of these things and then, as much as possible, start to develop the habit of praying about everything as you go through your day.
Father, thank you that I can talk to You about anything and everything. Help me to learn to pray about everything in my life. I want Your will, not mine. Amen.

Matthew 7:7-8 - Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
