Begin your time with God in prayer.
Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life.
Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart.
Read Mark 12:30-31 out loud.
"Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them." Colossians 3:5-8
To love God’s way, we need to eliminate corrupt love from our lives. Sexual immorality and impurity are outside of God’s boundaries. They hurt our relationship with God and are destructive to other people. Satisfying the selfish desires of our heart and wanting what others have is earthly and destructive.
Apply God’s Word to your life.
· When do you step outside the boundaries God that has set up? How does that affect the closeness of your relationship with God?
· How have your selfish pursuits hurt others?
· What earthly passions will you eliminate so that you can love like Jesus?
· Don’t forget to pray for your “Pray for 10” list.
Father, I praise You for Your unfailing love. Please forgive me for all the times that I focus on me and what I want. Help me to eliminate what is earthy and destructive so that I can show Your love to a lost world. Amen.

"And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked." I John 2:3-6
"… put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24
"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money." Matthew 6:24
