40 Days of Compassion - Day 28 - Be an Agent of Transformation

Begin your time with God in prayer.
Praise God for who He is.  Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him.  Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life.

Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart.
Recite as much of Mark 12:30-31 as you can.

"To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32

The reason that we shouldn't just touch the wounds is that it doesn't solve the root problem of people’s despair.  It leaves them in bondage to sin.  We want to help people feel better, but we also want to point them to the One who can set them free, forgive their sin, heal their hearts, and give them the hope of eternal life.

Apply God’s Word to your life.
· How has the Word of God helped you to grow?
· Call and thank someone who has taken the time to teach you the Word of God.
· Be in God’s Word every day so that you will have verses with which to encourage the hurting.
· Be intentional today – plan to touch wounds and teach the Word.

Father, thank you for sending people into my life to touch my wounds and teach me the Word.  Help me continue to grow so that I can do the same.  I want people to see You in my life.  Amen.
