40 Days of Compassion - Day 21 - Love Difficult People

Begin your time with God in prayer.

Praise God for who He is.  Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him.  Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life.

Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart.
Recite as much of Mark 12:30-31 as you can.

"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.  We love because he first loved us."  1 John 4:7-8, 19

As we seek to love people who are different and who are difficult to love, we must realize that it is impossible without God.  As we grow in our love for God and experience His love, we will be able to love the different and the difficult from a pure heart.

Apply God’s Word to your life.
· Think back on your week.  How have you come to know God’s love better?
· In what ways have you been a recipient of God’s love?
· Ask God to fill you with His Spirit so that you can love those who cross your path today.

Father, thank you for loving me.  Help me get to know you better and better each day as I spend time with You. I want to be a vessel of Your love today. Amen.

"And the King will answer them, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”  Then they also will answer, saying, “Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?”  Then he will answer them, saying, “Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.”  Matthew 25:40, 44-45
