40 Days of Compassion - Day 13 - Love God With All Your Strength
Begin your time with God in prayer.
Praise God for who He is. Confess any sin so that nothing blocks your fellowship with Him. Ask God to use the Spirit and the Word to transform your life.
Let God’s Word penetrate your head and your heart.
"For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." Timothy 1:7
"I can do all things through him who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
Every day we use energy to accomplish things in our lives. It takes energy to get up in the morning, to fix breakfast, and to brush our teeth. In addition to our physical energy, God has also placed his Spirit within to give us the power to accomplish His will. Loving God with all our strength simply means using both our physical energy and relying on the power of the Spirit to love Him.
Apply God’s Word to your life.
· What drains your energy so that you are unable to love God with all your strength?
· What changes can you make so that you can love God with all your strength?
· Love God today by using your strength and relying on His Spirit to obey God’s Word and please Him.
Father, I confess that I am always saying I’d like to do more for You but I just don’t have the energy. Forgive me for giving my strength to other pursuits. Help me learn to rely on Your power. Help me to make the adjustments to my life so that I can love You with all my strength. Amen.
